Dynasty thought this might be helpful for everyone in the LRSD. This is a weapons chart that breaks down the effectiveness of every Call of Duty: World at War weapon. (Note: When these guns are in the hands of Gymboslice they increase in effectiveness 100%.) The websites information are based off the PC version but I would imagine it is very similar to the Xbox 360 version.

They got tons of other great information here on the COD Wiki and they have more weapon charts and other helpful stats here at this Call of Duty Blog. Notice how the PC version doesn’t have the Gymbo Perk.

Hey everyone, Jigsaw here, and today im gonna give you a little rundown on throwing Grenades.

Way too often I see players aiming straight up, and launching grenades hoping to hit someone. While this technique can, and sometimes does work, Im going to give you tips on how to most effectively use this very powerful, yet scarce weapon.

In Call of Duty: World at War there are three types of Primary Grenades; Frag, N 74 ST (Sticky), and Molotov. Each of these are very different and effective in their own way

FRAG

The Frag Grenade is The Most common type of grenade you will see. It damages enemies by sending shrapnel

flying into anyone nearby. They can be thrown the furthest, and will bounce off walls. Some tips for using these are:

Take Aim – Although this sounds simple many people just toss, and pray. Determine the best place to throw it and then let it go.

Cooking – The Frag has a five second fuse, which means once you press RB you have five seconds before it detonates. If you cook a grenade before throwing it near an enemy, many times it will not show up on their screen, and you have an easy kill. The “timer” can be determined by counting the pulses of the cross hairs, one pulse per second. I find cooking the grenade for three seconds most effective for short distance tosses, and 1 1/2 to 2 seconds most effective for long distance tosses.

Use Obstacles to Your Advantage – Have you spotted a guy behind hard cover, and the deep impact perk isn’t quite working? Try bouncing a frag off a nearby wall into his position, you would be surprised how well this works compared to trying to throw it over him.

N 74 ST (sticky):

The sticky grenade is primarily an anti-tank grenade. It sticks to almost any surface it is thrown at, has a very small blast radius, and it doesnt cook, meaning you can hold it as long as you want. some tips for

using these are:

Try to Equip Them on Maps With Tanks – The sticky can easily destroy one of those pesky enemytanks while it is flaming, damage its armor, or disable its skids (wheels). Once those tanks are destroyed, you can continue fighting, without worrying about getting a mortar shell straight to the head.

Direct Stick – If an enemy is rushing at you fast, or catching you off guard around a corner, a direct stick is a great, and sadisticly satisfying way to stop them “dead” in their tracks.

Stealth Kill – Throwing a sticky at a wall or obstacle near enemies is a pretty good way to take them out before they know what hit them.

Molotovs:

Molotov coctails as they are called, are nothing but glass bottles filled with fuel, and a rag acting as a wick. They are pretty much direct hit killers, an will burn for quite a few seconds, damaging enemies who walk through it. Some tips for using these are:

Anticipate – Molotovs take a couple seconds to light, so make sure you have plenty of time to use these before attempting to toss.

Direct Hit – Molotovs are most effective when they are thrown directly at an enemy, they are engulfed in flames and pretty much die instantly, again make sure you have enough time to light the wick before throwing

Burning out the Enemy – Have you spotted somebody sneaking through the tall grass on Seelow? Are enemies holding up a tight corridor? Try burning the enemy out. Toss one of these into the grass, and watch it burn exposing and possibly damaging the enemy. Toss it down that corridor to heat things up a bit, and watch them flee to an open area.

Remember guys in most instances you only have one grenade, or with the Primary X2 perk you have two, use them wisely. Multiple kills are always better than 1, so try to put them where a few enemies are located. Grenades can be the difference between killing and getting killed.

Camping is a major issue in gaming nowadays so its either you hate it or love it. Camping is not bad, it is a very helpful strategy that works well in many game types. Team camping can be very successful and will lead you to many victories. Finding a spot to camp can either be very easy or pretty difficult. It all depends on the game type and how you set up your position. Having each soldier guard a certain part of the map will protect a lot of people from dying and making a rookie mistakes. Gaming is very competitive and some gamers look down on others who camp, but in reality it is destroying their moral and leading them to play poorly. Keeping your position locked down is very important. You can not leave any openings because if you do that can lead to a teammates death or possibly your own. Figure out who controls what spot the best and it will help strengthen your position. So just remember Camping is just another word for “Holding Positon”.

Since my last Gymbo’s corner I’ve been playing with some members of the LRSD (Bravo Team and Charlie Team Members) and noticed a major problem. These guys aren’t planting claymores properly and maximizing their kills. I heard these guys crying “My claymore didn’t kill him, what the hell!”

Teams were rushing in on our guys like freaks and not get hit with claymores. I finally came to the conclusion that Gymbo’s corner needs a Claymore 101. These kid are lost and they ain’t planting claymores like Mr. GymboSlice.

If you guys can remember the other day GymboSlice clutched out an important search and destroy game from beyond the grave. Clutching a game out is something super stars like myself do on a regular basis. Clutching games out from beyond the grave is stuff of legends.

So the story goes something like this. The LRSD got sent to overtime in a Search and Destory match (this rarely happens to the LRSD) with the game tied 3-3. I had planted two claymores before running off and eventually getting killed. Now most of the team was dead. Only Feccy J was left. He was scared (poor kid didn’t know what to do), it was a 2 on 1 situation and it was not looking good. Then all of a sudden BOOM one guy down. Then moments later another BOOM and the LRSD wins the game in overtime. So what happen? Who saved the day? Gymboslice of course. Gymbo had effectively planted two claymores before he died that allowed him to clutch out two kills from beyond the grave.

I was going to make a video myself but I found this one on youtube and it does a perfect job of breaking down how to plant claymores properly. All Bravo, Charlie and Hardcore Team members will be required to watch this video before stepping into battle with Gymboslice and the rest of the Alpha Team.

Gymbo’s Claymore Tips:

1. Don’t plant claymores in obvious areas such as middle of the street. If the claymore can be seen it will be shot and will be a waste of your time and your teams time. You only have two claymores with each life so use them wisely.

2. Use claymores to slow down teams that rush like freaks. After a team is blown up by several claymores it will slow the game down. They will be worried about getting blown up around each corner.

3. Plant the claymores at a proper angle or it will have no effect at all. I hear people cry “That guy just ran through my claymore!” Of course he did you didn’t plant the claymore at the proper angle where it can cause the most damage. One poorly planted claymore can result in massive death for your team.

4. Best area’s to plant claymore’s can be any high traffic area. Be creative! If your planting claymores in an area that no one else goes then your just an idiot.

Thanks for stopping by for another Gymbo’s Corner. See you next week.

Some of my teammates feel they are the best sniper in the LRSD but everybody knows GymboSlice is good at everything he does. If Gymbo is covered properly he will dominate the battlefield and it will open up the battlefield for his team to dominate the game. So I will fill you in on some of my secrets on how I am the sniping champion.

Here’s a little video to explain the importance of sniping. Our snipers Magic Wooshy, HipHopJunky and FeccyJ should learn a lot from this video. I will make sure it is required by them to watch this video before they ever step into battle with GymboSlice.

Gymbo’s Five Tips it Success

1. Find a good spot. Don’t just be sniping in the middle of the street, your fire rate is much slower then everyone else on the battlefield and you don’t stand a chance head to head with someone in a close range battle unless you are GymboSlice.

2. Never Snipe from the same place more the once. If you stay in the same spot eventually someone will watch the Kill Cam and find you. If Kill Cam is off, I still wouldn’t hang around the same spot for that long.

3. Make sure you can see a good portion of the battlefield. If you aren’t covering valuable ground for your team, then you aren’t doing your job.

4. Hit the target. If you miss your cover is blown and your teammates will be killed. This step is a major issues for some of our snipers. You must hit the target.

5. Don’t Die. If you want to be an asset to your team don’t die more then 5 times a game. You cannot die a lot if you want to be a successful sniper. Snipers must rack up 5-7 kills in a row so they can get their team an Air Strike or a Helicopter.

Gymbo will be back next week with more tips on how to be a champion. This is Gymbo’s Corner and thanks for stopping by.

Today I will talk about how to put down proper Suppressive Fire. Suppressive fire (also known as covering fire) is a term used in military science for firing weapons at or in the direction of enemy forces with the primary goal of reducing their ability to defend themselves or return fire, by forcing them to remain under cover. Here is a short video I found about the Saw and suppressive fire. This video also features a new light machine gun coming out in the near future.

If your carrying a big weapon like the SAW in Call of Duty 4, your job is to put down suppressive fire. Your team relies on you to put down fire and force the enemies to take cover. This will allow your team to either gain a better position or to wipe out the other team entirely. If you don’t provide the proper cover fire your team will be demolished. Call of Duty 4 is a team game and if you want to be good then you must work together as one.

How to Put Down Suppressive Fire (Covering Fire):

Step 1: Find a Good position. Don’t be standing in a wide open area or you will be gunned down before you can supply any cover fire for your team. Try not to hide behind something that can be easily blown up such as, car, truck or explosive cannisters.

Step 2: Locate the enemies. Don’t just shoot at nothing for the sake of laying down fire. Shooting at nothing is pointless and will only get you and your team killed.

Step 3: Fire at Located enemies and call out enemy position. If you are able to get kills great, if not call out enemy positions. Force the enemy or enemies to stay in cover until a teammate can finish them off.

Step 4: Repeat Steps 1 to 3. If you can lay down effective suppressive fire your team will win a lot of games. It’s called doing the dirty work. Not everyone likes being at the bottom of the leader board in kills but if your winning who cares.

Not everyone can be as good as GymboSlice and take out entire teams by himself. Follow these simply steps and watch your win ratio increase each day. Then say to yourself in the mirror I want to be like Gymboslice Five Times each day. Stay tuned for more tips by the great one! Gymboslice
