Official Updated Bracket!! Click Image to Enlarge!! Games kick off tomorrow 1pm EST!

Hey Guys its Gymbo here with the Day One Gaming for Charity Results.  I’d like to start it off by thanking everyone for competing and so far we are off to a good start.  As you all know all the money raised by this event will be going to the Wounded Warrior Project and it’s just our way of saying thank you for everything they do. I always want to give a special thanks to Nate from Readyupservers.com for letting us use their dedicated servers for tonights games and for the rest of the tournament.

Here’s the run down of the first round:

First game of the tournament we had the the lovely all female team Elegance take on LRSD Pivotal Moments  and it was a battle to the bitter end.  LRSD Pivotal Moments prevailed by a score of 2 games to 1 but it could of gone either way because the first capture the flag map ended in a tie.  Great games by both teams and hopefully we will see a lot more from both squads.

Second game of the tournament we had Extravagent take on LRSD Tivo and the Tigers.  Extravagent seemed to walk right through Tivo and the Tigers on to an easy victory.  Extravagant won 2 games to zero but Tivo and the Tigers fought hard every step of the way.

Third game of the tournament my boy Bohica and his team Next took on ExN Iconz. After the first game of Capture the Flag tied and they had the replay the match team Next seem to get their shit together.  Next ended up winning the replay of CTF and then followed it up with a dominating 4-0 performance in search.  I was on hand to witness the battle and it was a good one.  Good luck to both teams the rest of the way.

Fourth match of the tourney we had a replacement team by the name of Status Quo step in for Devines Team to face the always dangerous Pure Dynasty.  The first round of CTF ended in a draw which is crazy because that was the third time it happen in the tournament.  Well I guess that means teams were fired up out of the gate and we had some close match ups.  Well after the draw Pure Dynasty was able to secure a lead and hold on to win the CTF replay and they eventually used that moment to dominate the Search game by a score of 4-1.  Takedown was refing the game and all he had to say was good games by both squads.

My boys from Team Rough House took the stage in the 5th game of the night and we were handed a rude awakening at the hands of ICN Elite.  Rough House isn’t know to be the best players in the game but they showed a lot of heart. Despite being down 9-0 in CTF my boys managed to keep fighting on to eventually score to stop the shut out.  Rough House used that momentum to win the first round of search but it was short lived as ICN Elite put the pedal to the metal and finished off Rough House with a dominating performance.  If you ask me ICN was basically Envy Us minus my boy Hastro.

The 6th game of the opening round featured another replacement team that goes by the name of The Dirty Girls and they squared off against the gaming community known as Killer Instinct.  Killer Instinct is new to the world of competitive gaming and they got a real good taste of what the competition would be like at the next level of gaming .  The Dirty Girls and Killer Instinct started off and it started out as a close game and after the first round of CTF the Dirty Girls held only a 1 point lead.  The Dirty Girls turned the heat up a notch in the second round of CTF and pulled away to a dominating victory.  Killer Instinct lost the momentum they gained and they came out flat in the Search & Destroy round and was dominated.  It was a great learning experience for Killer Instinct and I’m sure they’ll come back stronger then ever.

The 7th game of the night featured the almighty Team Fear against from what I know the basically unknown team of Repulze.  On paper I had this match going to Team Fear without a doubt but that is why we play the game.  No one was on hand to ref the match but Repulze put on a dazzling performance in route to a 2 games to 0 victory.  If I was on hand to witness this battle I would have more news about it. I’ll get a better look at both teams as the tournament moves forward.

The 8th and final game of the opening round featured Takedown and Company vs Abstract. It was a hard fought battle but after I reviewed the match I noticed that Abstract used two of the same players ICN Elite used in their game vs my team Rough House. I’m not sure how 2 people can play on 2 teams but anyway if I didn’t write that in the rules I thought it would be common sense.  After looking at the tape I couldn’t believe that two players from the prestigious Team EnVy Us would play in more then one game of a tournament.  So therefore we will have to disqualify team Abstract from the tournament. If you ask me this was a big slap in the face from Team Envy Us and if they want to take the LRSD Charity tournament as a joke they have another thing coming. As of right now only Team Abstract will be disqualified from the tournament. So Takedown & Company will move on to the next round and Killer Instinct will advance to the second round of the losers bracket.

Other then the drama that presued in the final game of the opening round it was a great opening round of action and it looks like its shaping up to be a great event.

Losers Bracket Action:

In the first game of the losers bracket Tivo and the Tigers took on Status Quo.  Status Quo was a late replacement for the tournament and they came in on extremely late noticed and they played well but Tivo and the Tigers were too much for them.  Tivo and the Tigers coasted to a 2 games to zero victory.  Look for Tivo and the Tigers to make some serious noise in the losers bracket.

In the second game of the losers bracket my team Rough House took on Exn Iconz and we opened up with a dominating performance in Search & Destroy.  ManCub the young gun of the team Rough House opened up the Search game with a 2 vs 1 clutch.  Then Gymboslice  (thats me) followed it up with a 3 vs 1 clutch.  Eventually Rough House hung on to win the opening round of search with a clutch kill from Battojin.  Rough House had the momentum but we failed to carry it over to the next two rounds as Exn Iconz pulled out two close victories in CTF and demolition.  Exn Iconz advances and we wish them all the luck in the world. I know they really want those MLG Wristbands so I’m sure Icn Iconz will fight hard the rest of the way.

Other News:

Elegance and Fear did not play their first round loser bracket match yet. I look forward to that battle tomorrow.

Killer Instinct will win by forfeit because Abstract has been DQ from the tournament.  I can’t wait to see how Killer Instinct bounces back in the next round.

Thanks Everyone Stayed Tuned For More Great Battles from the Team LRSD Gaming for Charity Tournament!!! View updated bracket.

Gymbo here again and I’d like to announce the nominees for MR. LRSD aka Member of the Month.  We got a lot of guys doing great things for the LRSD and its about time people get recognized and awarded for their accomplishments.  The winner of the award will receive an MLG Bag (Fag Bag, Gamer Bag, Gym Bag, whatever you wanna call it).

Winner will get this awesome bag supplied by MLG Gaming! (Featured Modeling the Bag is Magic Wooshy)

Remember the award is not just for the most skilled player in the LRSD. The award is for someone who represents the LRSD the right way on and off the game.

I spoke with the Team Leaders from each team and we came up with these 5 LRSD members that have stood out the most this month.

1. Drist - Drist has been a solid member of Pivotal Moments on and off the battlefield.  When drama started brewing with the Team Drist was there to keep things steady.  Drist is also Mice’s right hand man and he has proved his worth this past month helping lead Pivotal Moments to the top 15 on the Game Battles Ladder. (Nominated by Blind Mice)

2. Bobby Shadow – Former Co-Leader of Team LRSD, he had a good start to the month and was the talk of the LRSD during that time.  It took him about 3 or 4 years but he finally changed his Gamer Tag from Shadow to his rightful name Bobby Shadow. He did eventually lose the job of Co-leader to Tivo “The Tiger” but Bobby was doing an almost perfect job up until that point. (Nominated by Mad Dog)

3. Tivo – He is the newest co-leader of Team LRSD and so far he has shined where others have failed.  Mad Dog gave Tivo the “Tiger Emblem” and then the co-leadership of Team LRSD and he hasn’t looked back since.  Under the leadership of Tivo Team LRSD recorded a record 24 straight victories. Tivo has also recorded 20 clutches during that time span and he has went from a little cub to a full blown beast in a matter of weeks.  (Nominated by Mad Dog)

4. Battojin - Old and reliable Battojin has been the back bone of the LRSD for a long time.  He may not be the most skilled player but he is always there for his teammates.  Battojin has taken on an important role as one of the Co-Leaders on Team Rough House (LRSD’s Training Squad) and he has helped educate some of the younger LRSD members on how to play the game the right way. (Nominated by GymboSlice)

5. Clutchified – Young and hungry is the best way to describe Clutch.  Clutch keeps the older members of LRSD Rough House motivated because he is always eager to play GB matches and learn as much as possible.  Clutch knows his place and he shows respect to all the LRSD veterans (exept for LI4TH) and has even put in extra time with Blind Mice to become a better player.  Clutch is doing all the right things to become a better player on and off the battlefield.  Clutch has recently been promoted to Pivotal Moments for his hard work and dedication. (Nominated by GymboSlice)

Hey Gymbo here again and I just wanted to give a few updates on whats going on around the LRSD. First things first we got two teams that have showed a lot of success lately and I just want to give a big congratulations.  They are doing a fine job of representing the LRSD and I just want to say congrats to both squads and to keep up the good work.

Donate Donate Donate!!!

Our big charity tournament is coming up next weekend and I’d like some of you LRSD guys to donate some money for the cause.  Whether your team is paid for already or not I’d like to see more donations from our LRSD guys.   I know times are tough but that is no excuse.  You guys can find a way to donate a little coin (even a dollar) for this event whether you are competing or not. Remember all the money raised is going to the Wounded Warrior Project. Please help support our troops.

So far we have only received donations from Ghost, Mad Dog and myself (well if you want to count Jiggy he donated 2 cents while helping me set up the Pay Pal Buttons).

I know you guys can do better then this!!

Need More Teams

Guys we still need more teams for the event.  We are even debating moving the event to a double elimination style format so teams can get in at least two matches. Teams like (not to mention any names) Rough House could gain a lot of experience with two guaranteed matches.

Keep talking to teams about the event we got tons of great prizes and it is well worth the price of admission.

Tivo the “Tiger”

Since Tivo was awarded “The Tiger Emblem” and announced Co-Leader by Mad Dog, Team LRSD has been on a roll.  They have stomped out 23 straight opponents in route to the longest win streak by any LRSD Team this season.  Tivo has turned on Team LRSD’s hunger and all of a sudden they are feasting on every team in their way!

Keep up the Good Work Guys!!

Pivotal Moments Records 100th Win Milestone

Congrats to Mice and his squad Pivotal Moments for their 100th victory this season.  Mice has turn these guys from solid players to contenders and they are well on their way to their way to a playoff appearance. Pivotal Moments is currently on the verge of cracking the Top 10.

LRSD Pivotal Moments was mention in a recent GB News article. (See Link) Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Ladder Update

Keep on rolling!! Good Job Guys!!

Member of the Month

We are going to start doing a new thing called member of the month. The member of the month will be awarded with a small section in our sidebar and possible prizes.  I’d like each team leader to nominate 1 or 2 people from their respective squad each month.  The team leader must state why they have nominated this person and an article will be written up.  To decide the winner we will run a poll on the website and then the council will vote on it to finalize the winner.

Team leaders please contact Gymbo and give him your nominations asap.

Th 3 Blind Mice here to give you another update as to how my team is doing. I’m happy to report that LRSD Pivotal Moments reached its 100th win tonight, representing the LRSD family the way it ought to be. Our overall record is 100-6 putting us firmly into 12th place on the GB Team Ladder. What I must say is impressive is that out of those 100 wins, 92 of them have come via 2-0 shutouts.

I must point out the efforts of two of my players Legacy H8 and Drist x. The two of them have played at least 90 matches alongside me. Both have proven their worth to the team numerous times and both continue to learn and grow in their abilities. They are both key assets to me as a leader.

I must also take a moment to give a little spot light to my two relative newcomers, howsmyshot and Crisped Attucks. Both have had key contributions in their match play. I think both have come a long way in order to accommodate our team style and have fit great in with our team chemistry. Howsmyshot is constantly asking questions and learning how to be a better gamer. I feel that he is by far our most improved player. Crisped Attucks has known a few of my players for some time so he has been able to have a smooth transition.

I expect nothing but the same from my team in the coming future. We have our eyes on getting to the top ten and my team firmly believes it will happen soon. TDM All Stars you say? Well, I think we have a few surprises for those people. Stay tuned till next update…
